Teymur Oktay oglu ATAEV (Baku, Azerbaijan), publicist, political scientist, expert of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with the Diaspora, delivered a lecture on " World after the pandemic" as part of the IIIT lectures series for CIS countries.

The lecturer conducted the lecture in the format of discussion and communication with participants. In particular the discussion was focused on global issues: what the world faced during the pandemic, challenges faced by the religious community during the pandemic and new ideas, how to bridge the age of technology and Muslim society, what the future holds for mankind.

The coronavirus pandemic had a profound impact on people's psychological state. No other disease has ever spread so much contradictory and frightening information. According to the lecturer, faith teaches us that diseases are a trial and atonement. That is, if bodily suffering during an illness helps us look within ourselves and see the consequences of our less than ideal acts for ourselves, for our immediate environment and for those whom they directly affect, then illness may also be seen as a blessing for the individual.

Teymur Ataev is the author of a series of publications on the post-pandemic world and reflections on the impact of the pandemic on various spheres of life.

About 30 participants from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan registered for the lecture.  The participants were interested in future predictions, scientific works of the lecturer and other challenges for Muslims in the modern world.
