Review of the course “Islamic Psychology” by Aigul Abdullina. I am grateful to Filyus Fliurovich Yakhin for the course, which helps to understand inner psychological processes and opens the door to Islamic psychology — the science of the soul. It highlights spiritual faculties, factors influencing mental state, and self-healing. The course covers medieval and contemporary Muslim scholars, includes original practice by the lecturer, and adds a therapeutic element.

The course “Foundations of Islam: Concepts and Application” revealed gaps in my knowledge of Islam. Thanks to the teacher’s professionalism, I was able to fill them and gain an academic understanding of key topics. This course is valuable to revisit periodically, regardless of one’s level of knowledge.

The course “Tafsir and Contemporary Muslim Exegesis” clarified the essence of tafsir—its etymology, methods, and importance. It leads to more conscious reading of the Qur’an and sparks interest in Arabic. The lectures felt like a journey through time with exegetes of past and present. The course complements “Foundations of Islam.” Grateful to God and the teacher!

I am Fatma from Algeria, with eleven years in Sociology, yet I felt emptiness and boredom. Step by step, Allah guided me to the IKI Academy program. This course built a strong ethical framework by focusing on Maqasid beyond simple fiqh rulings. The five universals gave tools to face modern issues, showing Maqasid as both the goal of Shari’ah and its method of application.

This module linked Maqasid theory with real family life. It balanced ideals of marriage, divorce, inheritance, and parenting with modern social pressures, turning legal principles into practical community guidance.

As the term’s capstone, this course tackled how Islam stays authentic yet adaptive. It studied Ijtihad and Tajdid as vital tools to face secularism, rationalism, and human rights debates, keeping tradition alive.

This class broadened horizons by comparing Islam with other faiths. Beyond polemics, it demanded deep study of theology and ethics, sharpening Islamic identity and preparing for interfaith dialogue.

This foundational course asked: “How do we know?” It studied reason and revelation together, training students to test sources and arguments, giving rigor to all other modules.

The course “Maqasid al-Sharia” with Prof. Gapur Oziev was very insightful. Complex ideas were explained simply, with examples from classical sources and real life. I valued the focus on the relevance of Sharia’s objectives today. The open environment encouraged discussion and questions.
