The first edition of “Fiqh for the Economist: Wealth Distribution” has been published in Malaysia. The book focuses on the management and distribution of wealth within the framework of the Islamic economic and legal tradition.

The book was published in 2026 in cooperation with the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) East and South-East Asia.

One of the co-authors of the publication is Dr. Gapur Oziev, Director of IKI Academy. The book also provides information about his extensive academic and professional experience in the fields of Islamic economics, finance, and Shariah advisory.

The primary objective of the book is to systematize key issues related to the management, use, and distribution of material resources from the perspective of Islamic law. The authors draw upon the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the views of the Companions, and the works of Islamic scholars, presenting the material in a structured and accessible manner.

The book covers such topics as Bayt al-Mal (the public treasury), zakat, taxation, voluntary sadaqah, hibah (gifts), waqf, wasiyyah (bequests), estate administration, and Islamic inheritance law. Particular attention is given to the principles of wealth distribution and their practical application in the economic sphere.

“Fiqh for the Economist: Wealth Distribution” is primarily intended for students and professionals in the fields of Islamic economics and finance, as well as readers interested in understanding economic relations from the perspective of Islamic law.
