Elvira Kulieva

Academic Field: Islamic studies, Islamic intellectual history 

Elvira Kulieva is an instructor at the Institute of Knowledge Integration (IKI Academy), where she teaches two courses Ijtihad, Renewal and Modernity in Contemporary Islamic Thought and Muslim Intellectual History. She also writes her PhD dissertation with the focus on modern history and contemporary use of Russian Qur’an translations and works as a research fellow at the University of Freiburg (Germany). She has Master degrees in Islamic Studies from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Doha) and Civilisations studies from Ibn Haldun University (Istanbul). Her research interests include Qur’anic studies, Sufism, Islam and Science, and Orientalism.
