The IKI Academy continues to support scholars by financing research in the field of Islamic Studies.

As part of a grant provided by the institute, Dr. Svitlana Kaiuk (Oles Honchar Dnipro National University) conducted research on the works and ideas of the prominent Crimean Tatar intellectual Ismail Gasprinsky. This study has been developed into a scholarly book entitled "Echoes of a Lost Muslim Civilization: The Provocative Discourse of Ismail Gasprinsky".

By analyzing Gasprinsky’s novel "French Letters" within the context of the “lost world” literary genre and Orientalism, the author highlights key themes of Muslim culture, colonialism, and cultural dialogue between East and West. The “Alhambras” of Al-Andalus and  are presented as symbols of layered cultural heritage and the fluidity of ideas.

This book is intended for historians, cultural studies scholars, Islamic Studies specialists, literary scholars, and anyone interested in cultural interaction, decolonization, and the history of ideas.

The IKI Academy invites the submission of grant applications and reminds applicants that successful research projects are published as scholarly monographs.
